Road Trip!!!

Havana Rumba LLC[1]Now that we have explored some wonderful restaurants in the tri-state area, how about venturing out a bit further?

Only two hours from Evansville, Louisville could easily be explored during a quick day or weekend trip.

There are three amazing restaurants I would recommend in Louisville.

The first is a Cuban restaurant called Havana Rumba. Besides being extremely tasty, the food at Havana Rumba must be pretty authentic as well because my Cuban friend put his stamp of approval on it. In fact, it is his favorite restaurant!

If you’re in the mood for a flavorful sandwich with melt-in-your-mouth tender meat, try the Cubano!

For some amazing Ethiopian food, Queen of Sheba can’t be beat. It’s a cozy little hole-in-the-wall run by a super-friendly staff.

I would recommend ordering a combination platter so that you can sample a variety of dishes. Be prepared to eat with your hands if you want the full East African experience (and who wouldn’t?).

Though I have yet to explore these places myself, an Indianapolis native highly recommended several restaurants in that area. She suggested visiting Jiallo’s African-Caribbean Cuisine, Abyssinia (Ethiopian), and the Broad Ripple area, a hotspot for ethnic restaurants.
